A Service Dog For Deb
Avonlea Dancin In The Street "MARTHA"
MARTHA 8 WEEKS
Pictured above is the lovely Miss Deborah, who has a mobility impairment and uses a wheelchair. She is pictured here with her original CCI service dogs Oregon and Orinda. Since their passing some years ago, Deb has not had a working dog to assist her to pick up dropped items, retrieve the mail and help her with all of her daily chores, as her beloved Golden's once did. We are pleased to invite you to come along on this wonderful journey, as two of our Avonlea Springers will be Debs new service dogs and companions.
The first dog chosen is "Miss Martha," Avonlea Dancin' In The Street. After passing all of her assessments tests for suitability for this important job as a service dog, Martha was the cream that rose to the top.
Martha is extremely motivated to retrieve anything, very focused, extremely intelligent . She is a very quick study. She is appropriately submissive and very social, as well as being an independant thinker.
At four months of age she is already showing great promise. Martha is pictured above as a baby at eight weeks of age, then with Denise, Avonlea's lead puppy obedience trainer, and also on her first attempt at picking up a metal spoon. Metal is a material dogs least like the feel of in their mouth and often refuse to pick up. Martha is more than willing to oblige!
