We don't usually use this website as a political platform, however, there is and continues to be , particularly this year, activity among the animal rights activist to take away the rights of pet owners, breeders, hunters and pet professionals. Please click the link ABOVE to read THE bill in NORTH CAROLINA.
As a sporting dog enthusiast, animal behaviorist and dog owner, Avonlea et- all is stepping up to lend our voice to this cause.
This proposal is just one of thousands that are cropping up (no pun intended) across the country that will affect all of us in one fashion or another.
The link below is for North Carolina residents in particular, however, we've also posted a link to the AKC web site where you can see other proposed anti-dog legislation they are tracking that may be in your area.
AKC is spearheading an effort to be "Watch-dogs," but they need our help. They developed a separate department to do just this for our benefit.
It's my hope that perhaps you'll take the time to read it and write to your senators and voice your objections to these attempts to compromise or irradiate the dog loving population.
There's usually a sample letter written for you to just personalize and sign and a list of all of your senators and their contact information, so it's very easy to help out.
All of the breed groups are actively involved in defeating proposed legislation that would take away our rights to own a dog, breed a dog, hunt a dog or simply enjoy a dog. Please consider helping us in this effort to protect all of our rights.
If you have any questions about how these bills might affect you personally feel free to write to me for more details.
