A Sad Farewell For Avonlea and Friends Of A Special Dog...
To all of our wonderful Avonlea Ess family, I must sadly announce the passing of my dear old friend who left me entirely too soon. Champion Emerald Ridge Legacy "Daniel" affectionately known as "Doodle." Dan left me after 11 years, quietly in the night, perhaps wanting to spare me the pain of seeing him pass. The void in my heart is vast, as I see all around me, reminders of him, five generations of wonderful offspring, a litter he just sired not yet arrived, and his rumpled up blanket on the floor next to my bed. I am forever grateful for his love, devotion ,the many lovely puppies he sired for me, and the wonderful families and friends his pups brought into my life. He helped me start over in this breed and restored my faith in producing a quality Springer. Thank you my friend. Though you are gone from my life now, you are never absent from my heart. Amy

Whats New in 2006?
After 12 years of hard work, Amy finally takes a vacation to see New England and the Coast of Maine. Yet never to be disconnected from the dogs, the trip includes a visit with little Beatrice (Avonlea Blythe and Bonnie) who now lives with John and Lisa in Connecticut and vacations in Maine. Oh the dogs of privilege.

Well, we're all moved in, and low and behold... we've already outgown the dog house! The dogs said the yard was great, but their bedroom was too small and they didn't want to share it with the little ones! So we're adding on another section to the building for the adults. Watch for pictures of the new addition...
