I am currently in a Masters of Science program working towards an advanced degree in animal behavior. In 1993 I was certified by Cornell University in solving canine behavior problems. Coupled with 30 years of consulting work in the field, I utilize an insightful tool called a "temperament test." The ©Puppy match system evolved through this work in the last 10 years. This is an in depth personality profile, which is used throughout the pups' developmental stages. It serves as an invaluable resource to match dog and owner for a lifelong and successful relationship. I offer this unique matching system to provide owners with a dog that fits within their lifestyle. Throughout my years as a behavior consultant and breeder I found that testing the pups as they grow from three weeks of age to eight weeks of age, offers tremendous insight for placement purposes . I also use (ENS) early neuro-stimulation exercises to affect physical health as well as sound and stable temperaments in my pups. The results of these tests, along with personal insight from speaking with owners and receiving their detailed application, are the tools that enable me to match the right pup with each prospective owner. I am putting forth my best effort to create lasting owner/puppy matches.
The concept is new and some individuals don't understand why they don't simply come and 'pick out' a pup. However, at Avonlea I believe my methods are what have earned praise from individuals in our national breed rescue organizations as well as the many homes in which our puppies and dog now live.
